Overview
The AMTRANS separates clipping from feeding. Operators clip sheets, duvets or draw sheets at ergonomic stations and the pieces are buffered on a rail, so one person's output never holds up another's, unlike a conventional feeder where the slowest sets the pace. The first clip pulls the sheet, making the second corner easier to find. Pieces are then called from the rail automatically, and the feeder, ironer and folder switch to the matching program and speed.
The feeding machine works in one or two lanes at 8 to 60 m/min and handles pieces from 0.4 × 0.4 m up to 3.3 m long. It has a stretch conveyor, an open suction box with brushes, suction under the feeding belts and adjustable spreading tension, all set from a touch screen with up to 100 programs and backed up to USB. Sorting can be automatic or semi-automatic, including sorting washed linen into carriers at the clipping position.
